Cook Due Here Today DETROIT, Mich., June 6. — Jockey Lois Cook will leave for Chicago tonight to fill his engagement tomorrow in the Miss America Stakes with Mr. and Mrs. James R. Collins Biddy Jane. Cook successfully handled the Motor City-owned junior miss at Garden State Park in the recently-decided Rancocas Stakes. H. H. "Pete" Battle, conditioner for the Mrs. E. E. Dale Shaffer Stable, will fly to Hawthorne with Willie Lee Johnson tomorrow morning. Battle- will saddle Miss Patootie for the Miss America and Johnson is to do the riding chore.
