Canada Cup Handicap Heads Thorncliffes Opening Card THORNCUFFE PARK, Leaside, Ont., June 6.— The sport of kings will be resumed on Saturday when Thornclif f e Park opens its gates for its annual 14-day spring meeting. Heartened by the marked success of the recent Woodbine Park meeting, the management of the ever popular Leaside course has every reason to believe that the impending session will be one of the greatest ever enjoyed in a number of years. Under the personal supervision of secretary-treasurer Harold S. Gosby and superintendent Frank Stocker, the entire plant has been whipped into sparkling condition * for tomorrows fine program which will be headlined by the ,000 added Canada Cup Handicap, a run of a mile and a sixteenth for three-year-olds and "upward. A band of ten of the most talented runners in training have beten named overnight to contest the Canada Cup Handicap in Lou Cheslers Bulverde, Green Valley Farms Kentario, Montana Stables Montana Sands, and Red Ring; Bill Beasley Stables Wolf Whistle and Bennington; Garden City Stables Dymoke, Vince Sheridans McGill, and Mrs. J. Tomlinsons Sir Strome and Mount Branca.
