ONWARD MARCH, in hand while racing well to the stretch, responded readily when set down during the drive and wore down MYSTERY MAN in the last strides. MYSTERY MAN, a sharp factor from the start, reached the lead when settled in the stretch and continued gamely, but was unable to withstand the winner. ONE PLAY, steadied while engaging COOL JUDGMENT to the stretch, drifted to the outside at the final turn, then closed determinedly when straightened for the drive. COOL JUDGMENT went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch under pressure from ONE PLAY, but faltered during the drive and probably needed his race. GLORYS CHANCE lacked early speed, but finished strongly. SUGAR BEET had early speed. Scratched— 59096 Arcourt, 116; 59302 Sun Bound, 116; 583542 Neds Choice, 111; 59187 Gracious Heart, 112. The latter, never far back, finished strongly under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. MIGHTY FOX raced evenly to the stretch and then closed resolutely when set down in the drive l COPPERSTONE lacked early speed, but made up ground during the stretch run. HALCYON CROSS closed determinedly under punishment. ROYAL LUCK had no excuse. DERWOOD was through early.
