Wade in Detroit to Discuss Plans for Hazel Park Meet DETROIT, Mich., June 6.— Horace Wade, racing secretary for the coming Hazel Park meeting, was an arrival from Monmouth Park on a two-day flying trip. While in Detroit, he will confer with Richard A. Connell, president of the Hazel Park Racing Association, and Waldo Andrews, vice-president, over plans for the coming August 1-October 4 meeting. Stall space also will be assigned the many horsemen wishing to race at the five-eighths mile track. Improved stabling facilities at Hazel Park will enable officials to take care of approximately 925 horses for the meeting, and to fill those stalls, some 2,000 have applied. Space will be reserved, it is understood, for several eastern stables which have expressed a desire to ship to Michigan after the close of the Monmouth Park meet. Wade serves as publicity director at Monmouth Park and the United Hunts, and doubles in brass as publicity director and racing secretary at Gulfstream Park. This latter track recently announced an increase in the value of the Florida Derby to 00,-000 added, making it the richest race in the history of Florida racing.
