Wont Hear Networks Suit Against Baseball Until Fall By the United Press Attorney Thomas McConnell said yesterday that Liberty Broadcasting systems suit against organized baseball for violation of anti-trust acts probably will not come to trial until fall. The suit had been scheduled for hearing in January but the trial date was deferred until May 11 by agreement of both sides. McConnell said "neither side is prepared" for the May 11 hearing "because of the large discovery program we both must carry on. When we appear on May 11 we will ask for a fall date by agreement." Attorneys for both sides were taking depositions for later court presentation. Liberty charged that 13 major league teams, both Major leagues and baseball commissioner Ford Frick has "rules. . .controlling and suppressing competition" in broadcasting games. The network asked 2,000,000 damages.
