Blue Licks Heads Eight In Kingston Purse Today Clear Day and Mr. Dink Coupled As Are Fine Fettle and Elevenpoint SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 7. — A field of eight has been named to take part in the Kingston Purse, feature race here Friday. Top weight of 120 pounds will be carried by Blue Licks, from the stable of Mrs. Sayde Smith, of Chicago, and the four-year-old son of Shut Out will be ridden by jockey Ronnie Baldwin. Ralph Lowe will send out Clear Day, and E. H. Moody, Mr. Dink, both coupled, while another twosome in the affair will be Fine Fettle and Elevenpoint, owned by Mrs. H. G. Knott. Others slated to start are Wisen-heimer. Whitleather, and My Time. My Time comes from the barn of William Fudge, an/1 last time out the gelding was a good second to Cajac in a five-furlong sprint in which Cajac and his running mate, McGrathiana, were odds-on choice. Prior to that, My Time finished third to the Bishop entry of Albemarle and Tattenham, and in his first start here was unplaced after having been successful twice at Oaklawn Park. My Time looms as the public choice for the seven-furlong race, which will have a purse value of ,000. My Time won six races last year and was in the money on 10 other occasions. With the exception of Mr. Dink, all others in the race have had one or more starts at the current meeting. Blue Licks, winner of an allowance race, at Gulfstream Park was fourth to My Times third in the Albemarle race, while Fine Fettle recently finished second to Echo Rock. Blue Licks also finished second to Neverlator here. Clear Day has not been postward since he finished second to Happy Gander here on April 27. He was beaten by a neck in a five-furlong race. Whitleather and Wisenhcimer were unplaced in their last race which was won by Albemarle, and Elevenpoint was third to Dr. Felix and Dr. Ole Nelson on the second day of the meeting. With the return of pleasant weather Wednesday and today, the attendance and pari-mutuel business here showed an increase with just short of ,000,000 handled Wednesday, when the racing strip was in good condition. The track was fast today.
