Field of Seven to Meet Over Ascot Off Track Gambling Lady, Dr. Pentick and Evenesta Slated to Match Speed ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 7. — The Canton Purse, scheduled at six and one-half furlongs, highlights tomorrows program to be presented here at Ascot Park. A well balanced field of seven has been named to face starter Eddie Anthony. The track conditions for tomorrows sport will be no better than muddy for heavy rains have drenched northern Ohio in the past 12 hours and dark clouds are still hovering overhead with more rain in the offing. All seven horses entered have been winners this season and only Anthony Graf-fagninis Gambling Lady is a non-winner at the meeting. She, however probably has the most impressive record in this event, having scored two well-earned victories during the winter months at the New Orleans Fair Grounds. In her only appearance here at Ascot, she wound up last on a slow strip which is not to her liking. Her best races have always been on a fast track which she will be lacking tomorrow, however, she is expected to improve a great deal over her Ohio debut. Dr. Pentick from the very successful barn of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Maxwell, will be a tough customer in the Canton Purse. He will be ridden by Gail Parker and has already won two races at this course. In his last race he lacked his usual early foot and wound up a disappointing seventh. However unlike Gambling Lady this one prefers an off-track and is expected to go very well in here. Evenesta to be ridden by Bobby Shirey, has won two races here this season and is very well suited at this particular distance. The four-year-old daughter of New World has always moved up a notch or two on an off track and may be the "one to beat." Roy Sang, who surprised here early in the week, Fleet Cross, Soundings and Nassoon round out the field.
