OFF AT 1:32 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. ROMANTYPE improved position gradually, swung wide entering the stretch, responded to steady pressure and was along to outfinish NAVY FLASH. The latter opened a comfortable lead soon after the start, shortened stride after a half-mile, held on gamely to shake off TOBACCO KING, but was unable to deny the winner. TOBACCO KING challenged for the lead entering the stretch, continued on gamely but was not good enough. LITTLE HARP showed a good effort. SCOTCH ROCKS, unable to keep up early, was going strongly at the end. RINGNECK, a forward factor and saving ground, flattened out under a drive. CONTRARY JEAN passed tiring horses. FIVE STAR broke with the leaders, assumed command after a quarter mile, came to the middle of the track entering the stretch and lasted over FALL FESTIVAL. The latter was between horses down the backstretch, moved to the inside when clear and closed with good energy. ROYAL FLORIDA, a forward factor, responded in the stretch but was not good enough. COURT VERONA held on well. SATIRE caught tiring horses with a late charge along the inside. ATHAPASCAN was taken back slightly to avoid crowding on the far turn and failed to regain lost ground. HELENTAR rushed boldly on the far turn to vie for the command, continued to peg the leader until the final sixteenth and was drawing out at the end COLD JACK broke alertly, disposed of AIR MISSION, saved ground and held command until the final sixteenth before weakening. LIGHTNING WILL showed good speed on the outside. AIR MISSION, quickest to begin stayed close up after losing the lead, tiring near the end. BOSTON PARTY came between horses in the stretch but was unable to menace, BOSTON REWARD was forced to lose ground on the outside. GAME-WING had no mishap WITHOUT KIN lacked early speed. LYDIA A. flashed brief speed. BUTCHIE S. was unable to get going early NAGGING WIFE was unable to keep up. DJUNA showed nothing. The latter drew clear at once, saveJ ground throughout and held on stubbornly. IDEALIST closed with good energy through the final furlong. CORUSCATE broke slowly, was rushed up along the inside and had nothing left for the drive. FLASHY had no mishap. GRASS SKIRT showed nothing. FLEETING BY was unable to keep up. BAD H0MBRE was outrun. COLONEL SEVEN gained a forward position soon after the start, came out in front leaving the backstretch, opened a commanding lead and withstood the late challenge of BEST DREAM. The latter came through on the inside, moved out slightly when straightened away and was catching the winner. HENRY D. M., forwardly placed and under restraint to the final bend, was sent through close to the rail to enter contention, but lacked a late rally. OLD SOL closed ground from a slow beginning. SPEEDY VAN weakened after forcing the pace. TIO TITO had no mishap. TWINTONE weakened. MINUS ONE flattened out. SHIRLEYS PRIDE faltered. The others were outrun. CHIC QUEEN moved in closest attendance of the leader after three furlongs, was unable to menace, but held the others safe. SWEET PICKINGS, unhurried down the backstretch, slipped through along the inside to near contention, but lacked a rally. FRIDAYS PRIDE weakened. FAIR FIGHT showed nothing.
