BOOKMARK, always within striking distance, responded readily when set down for the drive and, after taking command, won drawing away. TIDEWATER held a clear lead when settled for the stretch run, shortened stride thereafter and was unable to hold the top one. IM IN TROUBLE, outrun early, closed with good courage in a sharp effort. CLEAR OUT failed to make up appreciable ground. STRAIGHT ARGO tired. BLUE DANDY never threatened. NEW FLAVOR was outrun. WOODVALE HILLS, fractious at the post, was never prominent during the running. LAETERNAL quit. GALLANT ROY was through early: SPAH I showed nothing. REWING was allowed lo settle into best stride, forged to the front nearing the final hurdle and held SEA DEFENSE safe. The latter, away fastest, was taken back from the early pace, came fast when shaken up. and was getting to the winner. FLAW, far back early, rallied too late to reach the top ones. FLEUR DE JOIE took command between calls going into the last jump, then weakened. CURLY JOE was outdistanced early. REDUCE moved up menacingly during the run down the backstretch, but weakened when punished. BROWN ADOBE never was dangerous. GUNNY SACK quit to a walk. ST. REGIS and WISE QUE bobbled at the third obstacle and lost their riders. . BONNIE BLACK went to the front immediately, gave way to the winner before going a half-mile, but held on willingly to outgame HILL ROSE. The latter, never far back, failed to respond to brisk uing. EMMYDEE tired. PETSIE passed tiring horses. PRISSY MISSY quit THE TORMENTIL retired steadily after flashing brief speed. DARLIN WIFE was always outrun.. CENTERPOISE showed nothing. OUTSMART, forwardly placed from the beginning, came to the outside of HOODWINK to gain command entering the stretch and under adept guidance lasted to outgame the latter. A claim of,foul against the winner by the rider or HOODWINK for alleged interference during the stretch run was not allowed. HOODWINK outsprinted her rivals into, the first turn to attain an early advantage, gave way to the winner at the furlong marker and though she appeared to bobble slightly near the finish while in close quarters, held on determinedly in a sharp effort. NEVERSINK drifted out on the final turn, but closed resolutely when straightened and was overtaking the leaders. BLUE JEANS, reserved back of the pace, closed with a belated burst of speed.
