BOY DAMOUR raced prominently placed and responded when punished to wear down VERDANT in the last stages. VERDANT was used up racing in pursuit of the winner and slightly weakened. MUFTI was well placed, but failed to threaten under ar hustling ride. SLEIPNER lost distance racing around horses. DUCAT broke slowly. TINO BETTS was outrun. YELLOW FLOWER faltered. Won driving; second and third the same; PIQUANETTE was hustled along lo repulse early challengers and, after taking a clear lead, held on through the stretch drive to withstand DIXIE VIXEN. The latter raced around horses to challenge the winner entering the stretch, then was not good enough in the final run. YANKEE BEAU saved ground improving position from a slow beginning and finished fast. FIRST STAR finished well. LITTLE FIDDLE drifted out under punishment in the stretch. BESSIES BEAU raced within striking distance, smoothly ran down the leaders to take command on the final turn and then easily maintained a safe lead. COBBER, slow to warm into best stride, made a strong move around horses after a half mile, but could not threaten the winner under punishment through the stretch run. ARDOCH was intermittently urged showing early speed and faltered. AVION could „not shake free of ARDOCH and faltered. FIGHTING FLEET showed nothing. " -~ Overweight— Cobber, 1 pound. JR. was hustled to outsprint the field to the first turn, held a commanding lead into the stretch, then swerved when punished to meet the challenge from HOOP WISE and, after giving way to that one, came again to get the nod. HOOP WISE slipped through next to the rail and rapidly raced to BILL H. JR. entering the stretch.had to be momentarily steadied when the latter swerved over, but reached he front and then hung. HELFAST steadily improved his position from a slow start and finished well. IRON HEEL could not stay with the pace and weakened. NIRINGO had a rough trip. LEGEND OF CONFEY did not respond when called upon. FREDDIE FISH delayed the start by unseating rider and galloping off a short distance from the gate, then was outrun. PERFECT POWER gradually worked forwardly into closer contention, found an opening next to the hedge challenging in the drive and drew clear under punishment OUR COOKIE saved ground and assumed command when the leaders raced wide on the first turn, then bore out slightly in the drive, but held on determinedly. OPTION was steadied behind the first flight, then closed gamely from the outside in the stretch drive. AXEL MUNTHE carried horses wide bearing out on the first turn, raced in close attendance to the pace, then was slightly impeded by OUR COOKIE in the drive. SILVER LAMEE raced between horses and lacked clear racing in the drive. BLUE NORKA was outrun. TAMPERO, forced • wide early, raced slightly wide into the stretch and faltered.
