Storm Hour Early Favorite For Arlington Hurdle Stakes ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 23. — The3 Arlington Park Hurdle Stakes oh Friday will give steeplechase, enthusiasts a chance to see some of the top chasers in the Middle West perform over a gruelling two-mile course. Ten jumps each measuring four feet high and banked with rolls of brush will offer plenty of challenge to all starters. Twenty-three horses have been nominated for the race, but by post time this will be cut down to 12, a maximum for the. turf oval. Early favorite is Storm Hour, a bay gelding by Thundering, out of Colhour, winner of this years Iroquois Memorial steeplechase at Nashville, Tenn. Storm Hour is a seasoned campaigner and will be piloted by veteran rider A. D. Plamondon of Chicago. Storm Hour is owned by Dr. John You-mans of Nashville, Tenn. Rated close to the favorite is Jarrin John, a five-year-old gelding by Alquest out of Rushagal, winner of last weeks Royalton steeplechase at Indianapolis, Ind. Jarrin John is owned by Howard Tilson, of Lexington, Ky. Last years winner of the Arlington Park Hurdle Stakes, Foxy Poise, has been withdrawn from the race this year due to an injury sustained in a recent race.
