MERRY THOUGHT improved position gradually, responded under a steady drive and outfinished MY RUTHIE. The latter was sent to the front at once, shook off early challengers, saved ground, but was not good enough. LONG GONE, forwardly placed under steadying restraint, was unable to make up appreciable ground in the late stages. GOLDEN MEAN passed tiring horses in the late stages. CONTRARY JEAN dropped back after an alert start, rallied mildly in the drive, but • was unable to menace. GALILEO weakened after forcing the pace. COPPER RIVER had no mishap. The latter moved in closest attendance ofthe leader after a quarter mile, made up ground, but was unable to threaten. BAR saved ground to no avail. QUICK DEAL weakened after brief speed. DESCENTIVE, unable to stay with the pace, was blocked trying to get through along the inside in the late stages. MAGIC MOMENT went evenly. CAUNSIL showed nothing. .ALL RICHER was through early. AIR VIEW worked her way up between horses gradually, was steered outside of leaders in the drive and forged to the front inside the final sixteenth of a mile. MISTER KAW, alternated in establishing the pace, assumed the lead inside the final furlong but was not good enough. HIGHWAYMAN raced with the pace along the inside, faltered near the end. ALL MY HEART broke alertly, dropped out of contention, rallied in the late -stages and was going stoutly. WILD JIMBO raced wide on the far turn, was brought back in and closed stoutly. HIGH LAMA was unable to keep up. STEPIN TIME had no mishap. DJUNA showed a dull effort. TIGHT BOOTS raced within striking distance of the leaders losing ground on the turns, then flattened out. LETS DANCE, in hand within striking distance of the pace, rallied mildly when set down. TRIPLE F. moved along the inside to better late position. PHARAPOISE~weakened after forcing the pace. RIBBED engaged the leader for five furlongs, continued to force the pace until the late stretch and weakened. The others were outrun. G0LDSB0R0, never far off the pace and saving ground, rallied when put to a drive and finished with good energy. SHES GOT IT gained the early lead, gave way before a half mile, regained command when put to a drive and weakened. LUCKY DOG had no mishap. REEDY CREEK went evenly. GOOD BOY rushed up on the inside to take command after a half mile and drew clear, held sway to the stretch and flattened out. The others were outrun. GOTTADANCE raced close to the leaders and had no mishap. D0NNAD00N nearly went through the brush on the first turn, dropped back and failed to recover in time to threaten. BOLO LASS weakened. ALBANY FAIR was hit at the first turn, skidded to the outside and was not persevered with thereafter. STAUNCH LAG pulleu up very bad after the race.
