SPRING SCOUT entered contention along the backstretch, was cautiously handled while showing a tendency to lug in through the stretch and gained a narrow decision over PETTY LARCENY. The latter sprinted clear early, was rated in front and continued on gamely. Hewitts claim against the/ winner for allegeandstretch interference was disallowed. REGAL GLAD closed with a rush after being slow to respond. TOP LUCK trailed for more than a half mile and closed with a bold bid. ALAMANDA lacked sufficient response. WAC dwelt at the start.
