Mara Replaces Ross in Stand DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia Mich., June 23.— With the departure of Jimmy Ross for Denvers Centennial Park where he will serve as racing secretary-handicapper, Vincent Mara, Jr., moved into the local placing judges stand to replace Ross. Mara, who formerly was a Ratrol judge here, has been with the Michigan Racing Association since it began operations in 1949. Frank Munden and Johnny Hughey are to handle the patrol judge assignments during the balance Of the current meeting.
