Illinois Weight Allowance Bill Up for Senate Vote SPRINGFIELD, 111., June 26. — A bill to , give Illinois-bred horses a five - pound weight . advantage on Illinois tracks was 1 due for a final state senate vote today. Sponsors postponed action on it Thurs-. day when it fell 10 votes short of passage. Sen. Milton Mueller R.-Highland , said nearby states have such laws and Illinois horses are handicapped when they go to tracks there. p Sen. Arthur J. Bidwill objected that Muellers bill "is the equivalent of giving an Illinois horse a two and one-half length start on other horses."
