Queen o Stars Scores In Front-Running Style Whips Our Yonkela and Gino Gray Under Mayer in Cranwood Dash CRANWOOD PARK, Warrensville Heights, Ohio, June 26. — Ralph Bruners Queen o Stars, -who was just shipped here from River Downs, scored an impressive two and one-half lengths decision in the featured Cleveland Heights Purse here this afternoon. Our Yonkela was second, while Gino Gray, the favorite, came third another three parts of a length in arrears. The daughter of Time Alone ran the six furlongs in 1:15 and paid a liberal 6.20. She was nicely ridden by apprentice Jimmy Mayer. Ray Star broke the best while on the inside of horses, followed by Our Yonkela and Gino Gray. As the field raced into the near turn, Ray Star was caught in close quarters and had to be taken up sharply. While on the clubhouse turn, the eventual winner assumed command and as they straightened away for the run down the backstretch, was in front by two lengths while near the inside rail. Our Yonkela, ridden by Henri Mora, was second and Pull Treatment was moving up between horses in third position. On the final bend, Queen o Stars was saving ground and was in front by a length and one-half and in the final furlong it was "no contest," but young Mayer, who looks extremely good on a horse, was in no mood to take any chances and he reached down and hit her several times inside the sixteenth marker. Mrs. E. E. Watsons Queen Brier, ridden by Eddie Plesa, came through with a hard earned length victory in the fourth race and returned her backers .20. Win Fin, the favorite, was second, while on the extreme outside, and Halcyon Cross was third. It required Queen Brier 1:16% to run the six furlongs over the fast track. Queen Brier broke second, but soon moved through to gain the lead and as the field raced into the backstretch, was in front by a length and one-half, with By Bet second and Camp Cody looming the most dangerous in third position.
