Two Win in Naming of Filly Owned by Mrs. Rose Pondfield . CRANWOOD PARK, Warrensville Ohio, June 26. — As the result of a recent column written by sports editor Gordon Cobbledick of the Cleveland Plain Dealer and a short item that appeard in the Daily Racing Form, Mrs. Rose Pondfield, wife of general manager Louis Pondfield, of Cranwood and Thistle Down, has received more than 1,500 suggested names for her weanling filly, by Promotion out of Bimtor. Cheques for 0 each have been sent to Andrew Kuretz of Cleveland and to Ray Raffa, of Brooklyn, N. Y., for having proposed the name Prohio, which has been selected by Mr. and Mrs. Pondfield as the most suitable. Sixteen racing fans suggested Bimotion, which was the Pondfields second choice, and they will be rewarded with season passes for the current Cranwood meeting. Other names that drew strong support werf : Promotor, Proboter, Bimotor, Junior Prom, Bim-Bim, Pro Bim, and Cheesecake. One of the winners, Mr. Kuretz, suggested 160 names and Frank Berniaky, also of Cleveland, received a special award for his 90 suggestions.
