JOE PAGLINA began alertly and raced evenly to the stretch, then responded well when set down for the drive and, after bumping with CROSS WAVE near the furlong pole, held the latter safe. CROSS WAVE, forwardly placed from the beginning, drifted out during the stretch run, bumped with JOE PAGLINA and could not overtake the Winner. A foul claim by . CROSS WAVES rider against JOE PAGLINA was not allowed by the stewards. DUSTLIGHT lacked early speed but finished fast in the middle of the track. SAVED AGAIN finished well under brisk urging. ANOVAS took an early lead, set the pace until near the finish, then faltered. BONRILLA was outrun. REFUN disliked the sloppy track. ODDS ADVANCE failed to stay after showing early speed. LILLY VALENTI, well ridden and forwardly placed from the beginning, disposed of AVACADO before reaching the stretch, established a clear lead but was ridden out to withstand BATED BREATH. The latter, never far back, was sent to the middle of the ■ track for the stretch run and closed fast under urging but could not reach the winner. SEDGEVIEW lacked early speed but finished strongly in a good effort. AVACADO, hustled to the front before going a quarter mile, raced with LILLY VALENTI to the stretch, then weakened.
