Scarborough Downs Officials Approved by Commission SCARBOROUGH, Me., June 26.— President and general manager Robert A. Ver-rier announced that approval of the list of officials for the 51-day meeting at Scarborough Downs, starting July 4, was received today from the Maine Running Horse Race Commission. The commission will- be represented by Eddie Roundy, veteran coach at Colby College, as chief steward. George R. Palmer, Havre de Grace, and William Almy, Jr., Westport, Mass., will serve in the stewards stand with Roundy. Named as placing judges as Joseph La Tulippe, Charles W. Smith and Warren G. Wolfe; patrol judges, Edward J. Brennan, Jr., and George Maling. A third patrol judge will be named this week. Other officials are William R. Taylor, clerk of scales; J. Dwyer, paddock judge; Thomas J. Hamilton, timer, and Edward Morgan, custodian of jockey quarters. Gordon W. Morrow, Patucket, R. I., is returning to Scarborough Downs f or his fourth year as racing secretary and -handi-capper. His assistant this year will be Charles W. Smith of LaJolla, Calif. Lucy Taylor will serve for the fourth year as Morrows secretary. Eric Blind has been appointed starter for the fourth consecutive year. Until Blinds arrival on July 13, William Calvert will do the starting.
