Gallant Son, Patsy Brand Destroyed Following Spill CRANWOOD PA R K , Warrensville Heights, Ohio, June 26. — Gallant Son and Patsy Brand were both humanely destroyed following the running of the ninth race yesterday. Gallant Son crossed his legs while on the far turn and fell breaking his left front leg. Patsy Brand stumbled while on the backstretch and also suffered a broken leg. A third horse, Blackburn, -who also fell during the race was reported to be in good shape; Gallant Son, an eleven-year-old gelded son of Glastonbury was quite a favorite with the Cranwood Park fans and will be buried in the infield. The three riders, James Mayer, Cecil Harper, and Donald Hoover all walked away unhurt.
