YOULL LEARN improved position gradually, gained racing room along the inside and closed stoutly to outfinish LEES FIRST. The latter raced SWEET SIXTEEN into submission, drew clear in the stretch and just missed. DEBM0DE took off for the leaders down the backstretch, regained a forward position when roused and was sent to the outside, but was unable to reach the leaders. LADY- EDWINA caught tiring horses. LONE PILOT raced close to the pace for a half mile, eased out of the inside and lacked a rally. SWEET SIXTEEN faltered. SIR STEPHEN had no. mishap. GAME LADY was unable to reach serious contention. GREY PEPPER, never far off the pace, came inside on the turn, -swung out slightly for the drive and closed willingly. C0CKFIELD, sluggish in the early stages, came to the extreme outside on the final turn, rallied mildly and closed ground. JOE-APURA outran the field to establish a clear lead down the backstretch, shortened stride after five furlongs and tired. YOUNG ROMANCE was unable to keep up. OFF WE GO had no mishap. MRS. P. EYE CATCHER reserved under stout restraint to the final quarter mile, assumed command when roused, drew clear and withstood the late challenge. OUR JAN, in hand while kept within striking distance of the pace, responded to late urging and was overtaking the winner. DESERT WITCH, unhurried while settling into stride, came outside for the drive and closed willingly. SIRENS RING, slow to begin, came inside in the drive and was closing stoutly. SHIBBOLETH, steadied when outrun, rallied mildly in the late stages. WHITE BONES showed nothing. BULLOW lacked early speed. LAVION showed nothing. MY RUTH IE stopped. THENDARA flashed brief speed. The latter disposed of EASTER HOUR after a half-mile, assumed a short lead, but v/as not good enough. TIN TWIST came from off the pace with a belated rush. ATOMIC KISS broke alertly, dropped back and was steadied until the final furlong, then failed to make up appreciable ground. FRAN JR. had no mishap. FONDEST was never prominent.
