Ask Waivers on Joe Page PITTSBURGH, Pa,, May 28 U.P..— The Pittsburgh Pirates asked waivers today on former Yankee relief star Joe Page, who tried a comeback this year after a year and a half out of baseball with a dead arm. General Manager Branch Rickey said Page will be given his unconditional release next Tuesday unless some club gives the 36-year-old lefthander another chance.
