MOMO FAN raced in the middle of the pack for the first half mile, then saved groundwater entering the stretch to come to the outside of BABY TUCKY in the final run and best him narrowly. BABY TUCKY had the most early speed and, resisting a challenge from LESS NOISE on the stretch turn, drew out but, although going well to the end, was unable to last BLUE BOY was caught in close quarters on the inside on the far turn and, required to ease, came fast in the stretch and seemed strongest of all at the end. GEFION was well placed early, and overpowering the early leaders after entering the stretch, drew into a good lead under ordinary urging. BRACERO was never far removed and went steadily through the stretch, but could make little impression on the winner. TARTAN SUE was slow to begin and closed considerable ground in the middle of the track. MISS WHO and AHSA BEAUTY were outpaced but each came steadily to the end to finish in a dead-heat for fourth place. SKY SONG weakened after racing to a contending position. COUNT DOMINGO left the gate quickly and, drawing away from SCARLET LOVE nearing the stretch turn, saved ground in the stretch and had enough left to hold CHARLES A. The latter was off poorly, but improved his position steadily on the outside to finish strongly and was gaining. CHILDERS was a good contender throughout, although appearing to weaken near the finish. CLASSY REBEL went along fairly well, but failed to threaten. SCARLET LOVE tired. WINNOWETTE was not too far from the pace in the first six furlongs, then gained gradually and, coming to the inside in the stretch, found an opening to take command, in the last sixteenth and easily drew away. BLUE ROGER improved his position on the outside in the last guarter and outlasted CAMPESINO. The latter weakened near the end. FLEET REWARD was used up making the pace and tired.
