I Detroit Tigers Sign Lepley, I Star Wolverine Outfielder DETROIT, Mich., May 28 UP.— Paul Lepley, 21, a University of Michigan outfielder, signed today with the Detroit Tigers for ,000, the maximum allowed without making him a bonus player. Farm director John McHale said Lepley, a left handed hitter from Clinton, Ohio, will be sent to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., of the class A Eastern league. Lepley, who won the Big Ten batting title with a .396 average as a sophomore, is skipping his final season at Michigan. .He hit .368 in 31 games this year. 1
