LEADING MAN was a sharp factor from the start, in the stretch, with a clear advantage, but was briskly ridden during the drive to retain his margin to the FRANKS MAUDE was never far back and closed willingly under urging, but could not reach the top one. EVE gradually worked forward to the stretch and finished determinedly in a good effort. HURRICANE ast, raced with LEADING MAN to the stretch, then faltered. PAJARA lacked early foot SO FAIR raced SAUREE could not keep up. EUGENIA raced wide. REDEAL had no excuse. WAR DANGER showed . MOCK BATTLE moved up fast nearing the stretch, took command from MR. DINK after entering the stretch and, responding to urging, won going away. MR. DINK went to the front after three-guarters mile, was eased back during the drive while tiring and could not stay with the winner, although easily best of the others. TEDDYS HEIR gave a good effort and had no mishap. A-PACOPEP tired after engaging GAY JET for a half mile. ATOM AGE was outrun. GAY JET took an early lead, set the pace for a half mile under pressure from A-PACOPEP, then gave way. SUKY SUSIE was never prominent and pulled up lame. The stewards flashed the "inguiry" sign immediately after the finish and checked the film patrol pictures of MOCK BATTLE and MR.
