Canadians Head for Epsom LONDON, England, May 28.— A group of prominent Canadian sportsmen will be at Epsom Downs next .Wednesday to root for Blue Sail, who is owned by Max Bell and Frank McMahon of Calgary, "Alberta. The Irish-bred colt will be ridden in the English Derby by Johnny Longden, who is here with his wife, Hazel. Others in the Canadian party are Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Ripley of Calgary, Alberta; George Gardiner, Toronto stockbroker who this winter paid 5,100 guinets for the English horse, St. Vincent, and Hal Straight, managing editor of the Vancouver Sun. Charles Conacher, former National League hockey star, and Mervyn "Red" Dutton, former NHL president who were also in the Canadian party, are flying back to Toronto to attend Lionel Con-achers funeral Saturday. Canadas greatest all-around-athlete of the past half century died of an heart attack in Ottawa Wednesday.
