Court Orders Hearings J On Harness Race Dates M To Be Held for Purpose of Allotting! New Racing Time and Licenses Circuit Court Judge Harry M. Fisher Thursday, vacated the dates and license.*il granted Fox Valley Trotting Club and Sub.-3 urban Downs and ordered the Illinois Har-. - j ness Racing Commission to hold "full and Vj formal hearings" for the purpose of allot- J ting new dates and licenses. Judge Fisher 1 stated that these are to be reported to handl , in 35 days. The Courts ruling came after consider-- ing a suit filed by Fox Valley requesting sT. reshuffling of the dates granted last March by the Commission. ; Fox Valley was allotted September 2 to J November 10 dates, while the newly licensedj Suburban Downs was given August through September 1. Suburban Downsj plans to race at Sportsmans Park. The£jM also is a possibility that Chicago DowhsB with June 21 to August 11 dates also coujfl be affected. Chicago Downs also runs sij Sportsmans Park. Technically, MaywoqB Park could be affected too, but since thH meeting has been running. since April lt-W and will end June 19, it is deemed likeljB that the commission will reallocate thej same dates to Maywood, if the hearing andjd held before the Maywood meet terminatef Judge Fishers order said that the com- ■ mission must reconsider the license anjjLa date applications of both Fox Valley ai!u , Suburban Downs and "if necessary for the purpose of full justice" those of Maywofijfl and Chicago Downs. At the conclusion of its hearings, Judp Fisher said, "the commission shall ma£c such allocations of dates and licenses as its judgment are conducive to the best interests of the public and harness racing Each of the parties, may at the hearin£t cross-examine on any statements made.
