Name Linotype Operator Winner of Derby Contest Walter Mills, of Cincinnati, Selects Delphidessa for Filly CINCINNATI, Ohio, May 2. — Walter Mills, a 31-year-old Cincinnati linotype operator, today was named winner of the second annual Kentucky Club Derby . contest in which, the first prize is a thoroughbred race horse. Mills won the chestnut granddaughter of Sir Gallahad IH. by submitting the name "Delphidessa" for the two-year-old filly, who is expected to make her racing debut at Churchill Downs on Friday; the day before the Kentucky Derby. Mills will be presented with the filly on Thursday by Monte Harris, president of the Kentucky Club Tobacco Company,, which conducted the contest. Mills, a former Air Force corporal, never saw a horse race until last year, but he became so interested in the sport he bought a six-year-old gelding whom he plans to race this season. The first contest last year was won by Mrs. Evelyn Foley of Danvers, Mass., and the horse she won has picked up ,000 in purses, having finished in the money in seven of the -last 10 starts. The name of that horse is Fillequine.
