TORCH OF WAR, well placed from the start, responded to, a strong ride during the stretch run and, disposing of VAGABOND KING, held TUOSIX safe. The latter, outrui to the last quarter mile, was taken to the outside for the drive and closed fast but could not reach the winner. VAGABOND KING, in hand to the last three-eighths mile, was sent around horses entering the stretch, reached the lead but failed to stay when challenged by TORCH OF WAR. SCRUTINIZED raced evenly i and had no mishap. EPIC KING raced forwardly placed until inside the stretch, then gave way. BABY TUCKY / had brief speed. DIAMOND JOE was never dangerous. DOUBLE BOGEY, in hand to the stretch, was sent between horses in the drive and, after racing RIPPSY into defeat, held LYNN RIDGE safe. The latter began sluggishly and was outrun to the stretch, closed strongly when set down in the drive but could not reach the top one. JAY WALKER, never far back, drifted to the outside at the final turn, then faltered during the drive. LADY ALIBI lacked early foot. RIPPSY began fast, made the pace to the final furlong under pressure from JAY WALKER, then weakened. SKY HALL was never dangerous. ELKCHESTER had no excuse. BLUE NOW tired after racing well to the stretch.
