• • Ginny Bug Proves Best In Germantown Feature Shows Readiness for Arlington Hurdle Test by Decisive Score GERMANTOWN, Tenn.,- May 2.— Ginny Bug, the entry of Harry S. Nichols of Detroit and winner of last years Arlington Park Hurdle Stakes, again showed her fitness for consideration in this years forthcoming event by decisively winning the two and one-half miles Billy McFadden Memorial Hurdles here today. She faced a field of seven competitors which included a previous winner of the Arlington Park event. Capably ridden by Marshall O. Buder of Clayton, Mo., a young amateur who had his first ride on~ the mare, she fought out a backstretch battle with P. T. Cheff s The Deacon to jump a half length ahead of him over the last hurdle and finish drawing away to five lengths in the stretch. Others in order of finish were Mrs. Paul Vents Jarrin John, Dr. Youmans Storm Hour, Calvin Houghlands John Willie, Gilford Dudley, Jr.s Foxy Poise and Dr. Youmans Storm On. The last two were never serious contenders. Foxy Poise was pulled up and Storm On was remounted to finish after losing rider at an earlier jump. Another hurdle stakes nominee to win in I the seven-race meeting was P. T. Cheffs Lassy Bar who got a substantial lead over Mrs. Ann Hinds Dons Gold and Harry M. ; Rhetts Port Call in the secondary hurdle race for the day. The latter ran out on an early jump but was returned to the course to finish. The time for both races lowered track records for previous events, but this cannot be taken-as a record due to recent alterations jn the layout of the course.: nexttmeetiriff of the midwest circuit will be the Iroquois meeting at Nashville on May 14.
