■ 1 i ; i Only Two Race Bills Still Alive in Michigan LANSING, Mich., May 2.— All but two of the proposed bills concerning Michigan horse racing have died" in committee in the state legislature. The only measures now alive are"a bill to replace the racing commissioner with a three-man commission and one to protect state and municipal taxes in the operation of charity tracks. Among the bills which were killed when they failed to come out of committee by last weeks deadline were those proposing to outlaw pari-mutuel beeting, prevent the construction of any new race tracks in metropolitan Detroit, provide for fingerprinting of horsemen, empower the racing commissioner to impose disciplinary fines, set up a track squad of state police and outlaw charity ownership of tracks.
