The threat which came to light over the week end, was made last Thursday by telephone to steward George W? Schilling who was told "were going to shoot Longden." The caller then hung up. During the week Longden was under constant guard by the police and operatives of the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau, who now are convinced the call was either a hoax or an idle threat by some disgruntled horse player. Longden himself, was undisturbed by the threat.
