Hausner; bred by Miss M. W. Woolwine. N IN GATE-5:56. OFF AT 5:56 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. HELIOSCOPE raced along freely frcm the start and put away IFABODY after the opening quarter mile, opened a long lead at the far turn, then was headed by JOE JONES entering the last furlong, but came again with bare gameness and regained command in the last ten yards. JOE JONES, slightly crowded and taken in hand at the start, was reserved for a half mile, rapidly made up ground on the turn and joined HELIOSCOPE at the head of the stretch, appeared to"draw clear under punishment at the furlong pole but, although continuing gamely, was not good enough. BASSANIO was reserved off of the pace, briefly rallied in company with JOE JONES, but could not threaten in the drive. IFABODY held a short advantage over HELIOSCOPE saving ground early, then gradually retired when displaced. POINTING STAR was not a threat. BICARB was outrun. THITHER, in hand for a half mile, willingly raced around horses into contention and rapidly drew out under urging in the stretch run. TOPSIDE raced with the first flight, could not keep up on the stretch turn, then ran up behind STRIKING HOUR about seventy yards out, but was quickly sent into an opening between rivals and gamely gained his placing. SANDY HOOK was reserved early, came around horses for the drive and finished well. STRIKING HOUR was snugly rated setting the pace, - but weakened when challenged. WAILA was in hand for six furlongs and weakened when put to pressure. BRASS RING was not a factor. HOME BOY quit. Attendance, 41,799; Total Mutuel Pool, ,971,048.
