MURPHY SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 10. — Miss Night, an Illinois-bred four-year-old, showed good form over a muddy track here this afternoon to win the featured Good Conduct Purse, which was at seven furlongs. The daughter of Hypocrite, racing for her breeders, the owners of Mikel Farm, and ridden by apprentice John E. Carroll, contract pilot for the establishment, scored by two and one-half lengths from Sky Jeep, an outsider, with Bleu Feature finishing third. Both Braseda, the favorite, and Task Fleet, the second choice, were unplaced in the seven-horse field. Draws Clear at Half Mile Miss Night liked the track conditions and shot to the fore soon after the start to draw away from Bleu Feature after going a half-mile. She enjoyed a three-length advantage on the stretch turn and her rider permitted her to race freely for the rest of the trip. Sky Jeep came from second place to nip Bleu Feature near the end. The winner, in annexing her second purse in six starts this year, paid 2.00. The race was viewed by 10,044 on an afternoon that was dark at the outset but brightened a trifle as the day wore on.
