GRAND SPICE was well placed in the early running and, heading the field after leaving the backstretch, was not in serious danger in the run home, although ridden out. LOCHY was always well up and raced steadily to the finish. HEAD FOR HOME made a very strong run around the far turn, but failed to carry through. TIGER HARRIS was never a serious threat. DEMOSTHENES II. went to the front at once, and stealing into a rather lengthy lead in the first quarter, was never seriously menaced, although tiring in the final sixteenth. LANKY JOHN made a good move around the stretch turn, but was unable to find an opening on the inside of the leader near the end. VALOR LASS, in close quarters early, was going gamely at the finish. SHOTRAL also finished fairly well. PAR BOY had good speed for six furlongs. FREEDOM FIRST bore out on the second turn and tired after having been prominent to the stretch. BALLAPOOL was in close quarters early. HYDRANT BELLE was pulled up when beaten off. SPRINGLIKE headed MONROE COUNTY after going a quarter, and racing well while saving ground, had enough left to hold FRENCH LEGION under pressure. The latter was slow to get in stride, but came strongly after going half the distance and, although losing some ground in the stretch, was gaining. RIGOLADE was always fairly close up and went steadily to the end. GAY BROADWAY was hard ridden most of the way. BULLY BOLERO tired after going six furlongs. Won driving; second and third the same TUFFY DOE was never toe far away and, coming steadily through the stretch, wore down ECK-HEART to get to the front near the end The latter bore out rather badly on the second turn, but commanded and widened after shaking off TEN-0-TWO then went fairly well to the end. LAURYS GLORY raced steadily and finished with good courage IMPOSSIBLE* was going well at the end. TEN-0-TWO tired. JULIA LYNN was never a threat. FANCY-DEB dropped out of it after going a half mile. BLEU FEATURE was closest to MISS NIGHT most of the way and was tiring at the end. DANGEROUS DAN also weakened. BRASEDA was close enough early, then dropped back gradually. FROM AFAR trailed for six furlongs and raced wide while making his move, but was up to take second place in the final strides. RESIGNED took a short lead when TOP NEWS weakened, then tired in the stretch. WILLIAM MORTON was never dangerous. CLEETSIE faltered after having made a mild move at the halfway mark.
