Hartwick; bred by A. T. Simmons. IN GATE1:53. OFF AT 4:53 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. EARLY BULL took an early lead, gave way momentarily to JETTS KISS after entering the backstretch, came again to assume command and withstood a brisk drive to hold SEDULOUS safe. The latter, reserved to the stretch, closed strongly in the middle of the track, was unable to reach the top one, but easily bested the others. SIX-THREE-FOUR raced evenly in a good effort and had no mishap. BOLING POLLY lacked early speed, but finished fast under brisk urging. JETTS KISS raced with EARLY BULL to the final furlong, then weakened. BY GONE DAYS began fast but failed to stay. SUN DIVER was never prominent. XAPATTER raced wide. WOODSIDE showed nothing. GREAT FUN, in hand while racing within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, responded to brisk urging during the drive and, disposing of BERYLDON, won going away. The latter, well placed and reserved after the initial quarter mile, settled for the stretch run with a short lead but was unable to stay with the top one. DANGER MARTIN lacked early foot but finished strongly under punishment. TROPIC RAIDER went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened. FRENCH ROSE saved ground in a good effort and had no mishap. SIR CHEERS had a rough race. KIRKWAY MISS, forced wide throughout, was unable to reach serious contention. BOGAN began alertly but dropped far back immediately after the break. TREADA BOY tired after racing well to the stretch. Scratched— 47415 Maiden Reward, 111.
