KTBA Dinner Purse Tuesday at Downs CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky.. May 10 — The inaugural running of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Breeders Association Dinner Purse is to be contested next Tuesday at Churchill Downs. Downs secretary and handicapper Lincoln Plaut said today the five furlong dash for maiden two-year-olds will carry a purse of ,000. Each hopeful is to carry 116 pounds. Only members of the association are eligible to put horses in the race. They may, however, run either a horse they own or lease one. Besides the purse, the owners will be gunning for a silver pitcher and cups, which are being donated by the association.
