Sportsman s Endurance Handicap No. 3 I Brings Out Eight Marathoners Today Close Out May Be Favored Over W. H. Bishops Entry Of Chora and Just Judy SPORTSMAN 6 PARK, Cicero, 111., May 10. — The third in a series of route races, the Endurance Handicap No. 3 will feature Wednesdays program at this half-mile track. The distance will be one and three-eighths miles and it will be the longest event of the meeting. The race has at-I tracted eight "marathoners," including I William Hal Bishops entry of Chara and Just Judy. Others named are Pollard and I Harkins Close Out. Anthony Graffagninis Bookworm, Asipinc Stables Beylerbey, 1 James Sands Renoir. Tony Ferraras Bill-! town, and Maggio and Gregorys Tanbark. Close Out, a bay four-year-old son of Shut Out. looms as the likely favorite de-j spite the fact that he has not won at the 1 meeting. He was victorious at Oaklawn Park in February and finished third at i Keeneland. In his lone start at Sports-■ mans Park, he was second to Moondog in j a seven-furlong affair on May 5. Close Out i was pressing the winner at the finish. He j will be ridden by Bennie Green, one of the meetings top riders. The two-fold threat from the Bishop stable will have their share of supporters, I as do most of the horses sent out by the , Anna. 111., owner.
