In Tribue to Celebrated Trainer GOLDEN GATE FIELDS, Albany, Calif., May 10. — Memorial services were held last evening over the Body of trainer R. H. Mc-y Daniel in the Wayside Chapel of Patterson and OConnell, in San Mateo, a few blocks from the family residence of the man who led the world in saddling winners during the last five years. Probably never in the history of horse racing in California has there been a larger gathering of friends who attended such a service to pay their respects and do honor to the memory of a departed member of their set. The 300-s3at capacity of the chapel was filled and extra chairs which were provided alco were filled. Others who wished to show their sorry were compelled to stand outside. The gathering was a tribute to the popularity of the celebrated horseman. Rev. H. D. Harkins, a Presbyterian min- ister, spoke eloquently of the character of the deceased, describing him as a kindly man, one who was universally respected, admired and love The organ music and the singing were so impressive that dozens of the mourners had tears in their eyes. The space beb the casket provided for floral offerings was filled to overflowing; it was necessary to extend the wreaths and sprays far down both sides of the chapel. We counted nearly a hundred individual pieces, all very colorful, with the flowers ranging from orchids to gladioli. Committal services will be held and in- terment take place at Forest Lawn Memo- rial Park in Glendale on Wednesday, May 11, at 3 p. m.
