Drilling operations have been going on for r. early a year and it wasnt until a depth of more than 6.500 feet was reached that oil was found. Early reports concerning the discovery are very encouraging to the Combs Derby guest. Mrs. McMahan is a relative newcomer to thoroughbred racing and made her first purchase of a racing prospect last summer at Keeneland when she paid 0,000 for a brother of Your Host consigned by Combs. The colt, named Bar le Due. is now in training at Hollywood Park where he has shown excellent promise. His owner plans to race him sparingly this year and doesnt plan to start him for several months. Should he fulfill his early promise and live up to his pedigree, she is looking forward to ending him to Louisville next spring. Mrs. McMahan returned to her California home but is planning to return for the Keeneland yearling sales in July.
