Goose and Elston Piloted Namesakes to Win at Downs CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 2.— TWo jockeys have the distinction of -shaving ridden and won at Churchill Downs with horses bearing their names. As a matter of fact, jockey Roscoe Goose won four races at the Louisville track with the horse Roscoe Goose. Jockey Gilbert Elston was the-other. He won only one race here with the horse Gilbert Elston. On the sixth day of the. 1915 fall meeting the two Roscoe Gooses teamed up for_the first time to wta. The -victory came in a 6-furlong sprint in which -there were/10 starters, and the veteran* ran the distance in 1:16.
