This Irish-bred five-year-old is best remembered for winning the 00,000 Atlantic City Handicap last year, after Dedicate was disqualified. The 1 3-16 mile distance was covered in the sensational track record time of 1 :5AVs. The old record was 1:57%. ROYAL BEACON II., in three campaigns, 1955, 56 and 57, started 34 times, won nine races and was in the money twenty times, with earnings of 8,765. This stallion is still in training with Trainer E. W. King, at Garden State Park. His bloodlines, conformation and racing record certainly indicate his potentialities as a successful sire when his racing days are over. MARES SYLVAN QUEEN Brown Mare, 1940, by KING SALMON — ABBEY WOOD, by Hurstwood. This well-bred mare is the dam of ROYAL BEACON II. She has an eight-week-old colt by STARDUST at her side, and she was covered by HYPERIL in March of this year. STARDUST is the sire of Stephanotis; who was second in the International at Laurel last fall and winner of the Bougainvillea Turf Handicap at Hialeah Park. STARDUST also is the grandsire of Dumpty Humpty, who broke the six-furlong worlds record in 1:08. COMPASS BOX Brown Mare, 1951, Hby BOXTHORN — NAVY RELIEF, by Peiee-VWocfr. This mare raced thirty-seven times, won six races and was in fne money sixteen * times. She has a seven-week-old filly by HYPERIL at her side, and was sent back to the same stud in April of this year. ARDAN ROMP „ - Brown Mare, 1952, by ARDAN — ROMPERS, by Bull Dog. This mare also was bred to HYPERIL last month. In her most active campaign, 1955, she started sixteen times, won twice and was third twice.
