TIM TAM, in hand while following in much closer pursuit of the earlyleaders, worked his way through between horses while advancing gradually in the run down the, backstretch, was steadied momentarily to get around SIR R0BBY on leaving the backstretch, continued on while1 racing on the outside to the stretch where he cut to the inside of LINCOLN ROAD and proved slightly best in a stiff drive. LINCOLN ROAD made the pace in a well judged ride, saved ground to the stretch where he suddenly shied from the starting gate to the, middle of the track, was quickly straightened away and held on • stubbornly while lugging in to be easily best of the others. GREY MONARCH passed only tiring horses in his late bid. BELLEAU CHIEF saved ground to no avail. MARTINS RULLAH made up some ground following a very sluggish beginning. SIR ROBBY faltered after maintaining a striking position to the final turn. SIR RULER was always far bacfc LIL FELLA forced the issue for five furlongs and tired. WHITLEY could not keep up. YEMEN was in hand early and failed to respend when called upon.
