JEWELS REWARD, under- steadying restraint while In close attendance to the pace, was reserved until TIM TAM started his rally, moved with him into the stretch and, while drifting wide under left-handed pressure and bumping his rival, gained the victory. He was disqualified for having carried wide and bumped TIM TAM during the stretch run and was placed second. TIM TAM, unhurried while racing on the outside, responded readily from midway on the final turn, was carried wide while in the midst of his rally entering the stretch, continued to rally to pressure but was unable to wear down JEWELS REWARD while being tumped.
