The dark bay son of With Pleasure — Efficiency, by Sweep All is the all-American boy of the 1958 Kentucky Derby. In an age of asterisk-studded pedigrees, Lincoln Road is free of this imported designation in his first three generations and only three imported names are among the 16 ancesters in his fourth remove. Lincoln Roads sire. With Pleasure, was one of the best handicap horses of the 1947 season, winning eight of 16 starts and never being unplaced as he earned 79,-025. In his career, which covered five seasons, he won 15 of 52 starts and 80,660. Notable victories included his conquest of Armed in the Equipoise Mile and in the Vosburgh Handicap under 132 pounds while finisljing before Gallorette, Double Jay, Donor and Stymie. Spy Song, Rippey, On Trust and Stymie were other top performers whom he defeated. With Pleasure Is by He Did As a sire, With Pleasure, foaled in 1943, is being represented by his sixth crop. To date, his success has been moderate. He has been able to send forth a good many two-year-old winners, but their overall class has not been outstanding. He has sired several minor stakes winners, but Lincoln Road appears to be the classiest runner he has gotten. The average winning distance of With Pleasures get in 1957 was 6.40 furlongs, an indication he sires more precocity than stamina. With Pleasure is the best racing and: breeding son of his sire, He Did, winner of the 1936 Santa Anita Derby when it was a mile and one-sixteenth: He Did was by Whisk Broom n.s son, Victorian, and traces in tail-male to Ben Brush. With Pleasures dam, Seldina, won and produced seven winners. She was by Insco, sire of Lawrin, winner of the 1938 Derby. Griselda, Seldinas dam. was a prolific matron, producing 13 winners from 15 foals, including four stakes winners. Lincoln Roads dam. Efficiency, was un-raced. Efficiency is by the Sweep stallion, Sweep All, and out of Blue Lu, by Blue Larkspur. Thus Efficiencys top line traces to Ben Brush just as does With Pleasure. Probably the most significant factory in Efficiencys tail-female line is. that Blue Lu is out of Lucille Wright, by Bud Lerrier, Lucille Wright was out of Katrina, a daughter of Brown Prince H., who produced Mokatam, who -whipped Questionnaire In the 1931 Suburban Handicap. Lucille Wright and RIokatam were full brother and sister. Katrina is also third dam of Tritium, winner of the 1952 Selima. Ka-trinas dam,. Passing Shower, was out of Passan. a half sister to the. great and unbeaten" Colin, winner of the Belmont Stakes and many other important fixtures.
