LAST DAY IN FLORIDA Most Successful Season to End With Todays Colorful Program. ,000 Tropical Special and ,500 Viscaya Stakes Principal Attractions of Getaway Card. MIAMI, Fla., April 2. Floridas most successful racing season since the sport was legalized in the state will come to a colorful climax with the running of the ,000 Tropical Special and the ,500 Viscaya Stakes on the final day of the Tropical Park meeting here tomorrow. A small but well-balanced field of four crack three-year-olds has been entered in the first Tropical Special, the successor to the twice-run Derby Consolation, of a mile and a furlong. H. W. Jacksons Par, winner of his last three starts, likely will be the favorite in this starry quartet. His last race, an impressive triumph in the Royal Palm Handicap, gives him the edge over his three rivals. He will be ridden by jockey Eddie Arcaro, one of the greatest stake riders developed in America, in recent years. Earl Steffen will have the mount on Mae-cloud, the fast daughter of Highcloud and Sarah Ginger, which will bear the hopes of Dewitt Pages Maemere Farm. Jockey Wayne D. Wright is slated to ride the Ohio threat, Bernard F., owned by I. J. Collins, who is a member of the racing commission in that state. Rounding out the field is Lee Rosenbergs Robber Baron, with jockey Joe Wagner up. REMARKABLE TO FORE. Supporting the Special will be the Viscaya Stakes, in which eight of the best two-year-olds in training in the winter sector have been entered. This is the most important test for juveniles of the Florida campaign. Remarkable, carrying the silks of the Aeolian Stable and ridden by jockey Earl Steffen, seems to have a slight edge in paddock regard over his seven opponents in the Viscaya. The light colored son of Kiev has won his last two races in brilliant style. Chief opposition likely will come from the powerful Paragon Stable entry of Family Friend and Bold Turk, which worked sensationally here Thursday. Side by side they went a half mile at Tropical Park in :22. :35, and :47. Trainer George Phillips of the Maemere Farm will pin his hopes upon an entry of Maetall and Maesak, the former to be ridden by Wayne Wright and the latter by Jimmie Lynch. Also in the field are Mrs. Emil Denemarks Radio Charm, William H. Gallaghers Miss Apprehend and Mrs. D. A. Buckleys Heraldic. Another supporting race on the colorful eight-race final card, is the Matheson Hammock Park Handicap, the sprint feature at six furlongs. Joyride, sensational member of the Cos-grave Stable of Canada, which has won his last three starts, will carry top weight of 120 pounds in this dash and looms as the early favorite in the field of ten.
