APPOINT VANDERBILT CHAIRMAN BOWIE. Md, April 2. A. G. Vanderbilt chairman of "Preakness was appointed Week," one of the highlights of the sprmg meeting of the Maryland Jockey Club session at Pimlico. The announcement was tendered to business ; and dinner made at a social leaders at the Southern Hotel Thursday evening. Plans for the Preakness ball and other social activities of the week which fs climaxed by the running of the Preakness were laid. Mayor Howard Jackson addressed the gathering during the course of the evening: Hal Fink, of the Southern Hotel, presided.
