The latter started slowly, came to the outside in the stretch, made a game bid but hung in the closing strides. SIR ALMADEL, sent f,-, id shortly after the start, swung wide entering the stretch and tired in the final sixteenth. MR-MICKEY finished, gamely. JENNY WITCH was outrun. CHESTNUT BABY, much the best, took command from the start, drew away into a long lead in the first half mile and won unextended. PALCO, forced to race wide to enter contention, finished gamely, but was not good enough. SWING CORNERS, far back early, lost much ground while improving his position and finished gamely. ALS SON was tiring at the end. ULTALU closed with a rush. FAIR FELLOW, rank at the gate, broke well, showed early speed, but tired badly in the last eighth.
