JULES LAZARD took command at once, established a good advantage rapidly, was steadied along thereafter and won easily. RHINIZ, slow to start and outrun early, worked his way forward- on the outside and finished strongly; TOBACCO BUYER made up ground. BLUE CHATTER, badly ridden, moved into contention under light restraint, but tired when put to pressure. STEERING WHEEL, taken back repeatedly for five-eighths, was sent through the field when improving his position, but tired in the drive. PLAY SWEEP was done after three-quarters. SECOND RACE 5-8 MDLE. TRANS WYNN took command at once, established a big advantage rapidly, tired after swinging wide at the stretch turn, and failed to withstand the winner. IMPERIAL SCOUT made up ground while racing wide. LOCAL BOY came from far back and oa the inside .during the run through the stretch. NAPPER TANDY tired. KINGS DOUBLE quit. The latter, outrun early and on the outside throughout, responded fast after reaching the stretch, finished strongly and was locked with DOLAWAY at the end. SUN POWER, hustled along throughout, took command inside the final quarter, was unable to hold the lead and tired in the last stages. -DRESSY rushed into a lead early, gave way rapidly in the final eighth.
