NINE NAMED FOR RICH PRINCESS PAT STAKES I t First Running of Filly Event to Be Worth About 4,000 Inhale Vies With Mars Entry of Manie OHara and Well Rewarded for Post of Favoritism Largest Saturday Crowd Expected HOMEWOOD, 111.,. June 11. The Princess Pat Stakes, which the Washington Park Jockey Club hopes will develop into one of the most fashionable summer stakes for two-year-old fillies, will be run for the first time at Washington Park Saturday afternoon. Nine were named overnight for the six furlongs test, and if -all of them actually start the race will have a gross value of 4,310. The nine named, among them some of the fleetest in the country, represent the cream of the crop of 201 which were nominated last September 15, and of the fifty-six for which final payments were made. It seemed likely that all of those entered this morning would start, particularly since the pleasant weather and improving track today seemed to indicate fast footing for the running of the feature. BEST OF THE EAST. . Unbeaten filly stars of the West against the early claimant to the eastern filly championship is the way the Princess Pat shapes up. It is Inhale, John Hay Whitneys double stake winning miss, which comes to Saturdays feature widely considered the fleetest filly in the eastern stake division, following her one-sided victories in the Youthful and Rosedale stakes at Jamaica. Fine as is the record turned in by the daughter of The Porter Fatima H., she may not go to the starting gate favorite for a Princess Pat victory. Overnight it appeared that the Milky Way Farm entry, consisting of the undefeated Manie OHara and her running mate, Well Rewarded, might rule a slight choice over Inhale. Third choice to the Whitney and Milky Way fillies will likely be another undefeated miss, the Shandon Farm Bluefield, easy winner of her only effort. Others entered in the Princess Pat include the Valdina Farms entry, Osculet and Hermana, the Bomar Stables Fancy That, Mrs. F. A. Carreauds Little Time, and Mrs. John Hertz Lace Reigh. Cold and wet weather has hampered the training efforts of some fillies, which would otherwise be up to a six-furlong test, but the Princess Pat field as constituted includes most of the best ones which have been uncovered here so far. FAST TRACK PROBABLE. A fast track is in prospect for the first running of the stake, and it has been over fast stripes that Inhale has turned in her winning efforts. Manie OHara in her two starts has been called upon to race over a " muddy and good track, but she narrowly missed a track record upon .her second outing. Well Rewarded qualified to go in the stake by a smashing victory earlier in the week. Bluefields first race was on Decoration Day, when she led from start to finish to score by four lengths in 1:07 over a slow track. Little Time and Fancy That both were rapidly gaining fourths in their most recent efforts, Lace Reigh has yet to show much, while the Valdina pair has been consistently close in most of their efforts.
